John K. Harseny (1920-2000) was the economist who, along with John Nash and Reinhard Selten, won the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences 1994 for his research in the field of the theory of games, mathematical system for a prediction of results of competitions and conflicts. John Harseny is known first of all for the deposits to research of the theory of games and its application to economy, is certain for his development of very innovative analysis of games of incomplete information, the so-called games Bayesian. He also made an essential contribution to use of the theory of games and an economic reasoning in political and moral philosophy (definitely utilitarian ethics), and also assistance to research of a choice of balance.

Been born in 1920 in Budapest to the Jewish druggist, Harsanyi endured nazi occupation of Hungary; he and his future wife ran away from more and more communist regime of the country in 1950, having broken through to Australia before to arrive to the United States. Having earned M.A. in economy from university of Sydney, he continued to earn for the doctor of philosophy in economy from Stanford University and started studying mathematics and statistics in preparation to work in the field of the theory of games; his interest in a subject was lit in the early fifties by John Nash's articles about cooperative, not cooperative and the games concluding the bargain, and also about mutually optimum strategy of threat in such games.
In 1964, after two years' restriction at Wayne's University, he became a teacher at Business school of the Californian university, Berkeley. Though he published some works in the 50th, in Berkeley, his researches of the theory of games started blossoming.

In the three-part work published in 1967 and 1968 Harseni showed how to transform game with incomplete information to one with full nevertheless imperfect information to make him available for theoretical by game of the analysis. In 197,3 it I showed that "almost all" the mixed strategy Nash's balance can give other interpretation as pure strategy strict balance according to the chosen game with randomly fluctuating payment functions.
He also published four books. Two of them, Two books, Essay on Ethics, Social Behaviour, and the Scientific Explanation (1976), and Papers in the Theory of games (1982), were collections of articles in the magazine. Rational Behaviour and the Balance Concluding the bargain in Games and Social situations (1977), there was an attempt to unite the theory of games, expanding use of the models concluding the bargain from joint games also to not joint games. The general Theory of the Choice of Balance in Games (1988) was collaboration with Reinhard Selten.
Harsanyi remained in Berkeley for other part of his career. He also had an honourable doctor's degree from Northwest university. He was the member of National academy of Sciences and several societies of the economist.
John Harseny died on August 9, 2000, of heart attack, in Berkeley.
